The Cosworth chassis combines the best of both worlds. It has the necessary slot
to mount an HPI or Tamiya front-end or you can use the the included butterfly chassis to run it
with your 10L parts. Yet it retains the three shock design that you would find in most
common pan cars.
Here are some features of the Cosworth:
Uses standard 10L3 or 10L4 parts, which allows you to easily convert and existing pan car.
Most all of the Hop-Up parts available on the market for 10L3 or 10L4 cars can be used on this car.
With the Cosworth being as versital as it is, you can swap between four different front-ends as you choose.
If you prefer the more realistic look with the large A-arms, you can install and mount the Tamiya or HPI F1 front-end.
The Standard Spitfire Butterfly will bolt on to the chassis providing your with a realistic looking F1 style front end with more adjustability vs. the Tamiya/HPI front end
If you want to switch it up and need additional tweaking you can switch to the butterfly plate that is able to mount the Associated Dynamic Front-End
Already drilled holes allow you to easily install an HPI or many of the Tamiya front wings
Battery configuration allows you to distribute the weight of the batteries more towards the center part of the car giving you a balanced car for both large ovals and tight road courses.
Allows you to use a standard Associated Nerf bar on either side of the chassis to help protect your rear tires from impact with the wall.
Either way you will find the Cosworth to be quite the alternative chassis to give you the best of both
worlds.
Drivers of the original HPI car that have switched to this chassis
have found that the car handles better and allows them more versatility in tuning the
rear of the car for the turns. How much better is it? We gave this chassis to the current track record holder and at
the next race he set a new track record! He liked the chassis with the three shock, giving him
more control, a better and more fluid movement of the vehicle that he couldn't get with
the stock HPI. He said that it was a real pleasure to drive and was easy to setup and
get up to top speed and then break the record, his own record that he previously set with
even a slightly modified stock HPI Super F1.
The Cosworth comes with the main chassis, Associated style butterfly and the rear upper mount.
If you want to run it with the HPI or Tamiya front-ends, you will need to have or get those front-ends
on your own, we do not provide those. However at the time of making this chassis the necessary
parts could still be obtained from HPI, we are not sure though for how much longer they will be
available. We are also unsure about the availability for the Tamiya front-ends that would work
as well and their availability.
This is an Image of the newest revision of the Cosworth Chassis, as you can see it has been
rounded out for a more clean look and feel than the previous Cosworth Chassis.
